Aldergrove Minor Hockey is now accepting coaching applications for the 2019/2020 season. The form can be downloaded from the AMHA website under the coaching info tab.

All applications for the REP LEVEL teams have to be submitted no later than June 15th.

Applications can either be emailed to or dropped off at the AMHA drop box located across from the AMHA equipment room in the rink.

The purpose of the AGM is to give its members a report on the association’s activities and finances for the previous season, and to allow time for members to ask questions. It is the perfect place to address the association on association-related matters. Come be part of the process.

We have two motions to present at the AGM. Please refer to the email sent out April 1st for copies of the Notice of Motion for these.

February 25, 2019 Director of Hockey Operations

Aldergrove Minor Hockey is seeking an individual for the position of Director of Hockey

The Director of Hockey Operations (DOHO) is supervised by the Coach Coordinator and reports
to the AMHA Executive.
The DOHO has overall responsibility for the strategic direction of Aldergrove Minor Hockey. This
includes the development of coaches and players, administration of our hockey program at all
levels; evolution and expansion of the program. The DOHO will liaise with an involved parent
membership, PCAHA, BC Hockey and all other external entities related to administration of our
hockey program.
This position is expected to uphold and role-model the core values of our association: empathy,
integrity, humility, respect, responsibility, and resilience.

 Trained and certified as a High Performance coach.
 Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with, and training of, coaches.
 Minimum of 3 years’ experience coaching players of all ages and abilities.

Skills and Abilities:
 Demonstrated leadership abilities.
 Proven experience in building a strategic plan for a hockey program.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
 Strong organizational, administrative and planning skills.
 Excellent problem solving skills.
 Ability to work in a collaborative manner with a team of coaches.

 Ensure all aspects of the program align with AMHA policies and procedures.
 Coordinate training and monitoring of coaches’ competencies to include
mentorship, development and evaluation.
 Oversee recruitment and retention of coaching volunteers.
 Plan and deliver Coach Development clinics including classroom based and on-ice
sessions, at least quarterly.
 Develop a standardised training program based upon a philosophy that upholds the
core values of our association and provide direction for all teams at all levels.
 Provide leadership and technical support during all tryout evaluation skates. Follow
all Association guidelines working directly with the AMHA Executive.
 Partner with the Rep Team Selection Committee until the final rosters are set.
 Develop a High-Performance program to enable our A teams to compete at the
highest level possible.
 Develop a Mid-level Program to support our C teams to compete at the highest level
 Develop a Grass Roots program for our Novice level teams, focussing on the
fundamental skills of hockey.
 Attend team practices to work with both the coaching staff and the players’
 Establish a set monthly schedule to drive player development.
 Establish and operate specialized clinics to develop positions and promote hockey
 Report to the AMHA Executive on progress at regular Executive Board Meetings.
 Submit annual strategic plan for hockey operations when requested by the Board for
ratification prior to implementation.
